Spinach – Nobel Giant

The Nobel Giant spinach variety produces rounded, dark green, rather smooth leaves. The vigorous plants are resistant to cold and slow to go to seed. Productive, they grow back well after harvest.

Growing tips

Conditions of germination:

depth of sowing: 1.5 cm

optimal temperatures of germination: 5 to 22ºC

time for germination: 7 to 14 days

When to sow:

direct and successive sowing every 3-4 weeks when the soil can be worked in spring until September

Sowing technique: in line

draw a line in the soil (in a pot or in the ground) then place the seeds at the indicated distance according to the variety or according to the desired harvest (young or mature plant)

Distance in the garden:

between plants: from 5 cm (for small leaves) to 15 cm (for larger leaves)

between rows: 30 cm

Soil: fertile and well drained

Exposure: full sun or light shade

When to harvest: 25 to 30 days for young leaves, 45 to 50 days for mature leaves

Specificity: Cut young shoots as you need them or when they reach 10 cm to encourage more leaves on the plant during the season.
