Growing tips
Germination conditions:
sowing depth: 5 mm
optimum germination temperature: 21 to 27ºC
germination time: 5 to 10 days
When to sow:
sow indoors 8 weeks before the last frost in your region for an early harvest OR
direct sowing after any risk of frost (around 2 weeks after the last frost) for an autumn harvest.
Sowing technique: in pocket
In the same hole, sow 3 to 5 seeds, spacing them 1 to 2 cm apart. When the seeds have germinated and the seedlings are 5 cm tall, keep all the plants if space is available, or keep only the best-looking ones.
for indoor seedlings: harden off seedlings outdoors before transplanting them into the garden
for direct sowing: thin out plants in preparation for final placement in the garden.
Transplanting outdoors (for indoor seedlings):
when there is no risk of frost
Distance in the garden:
between plants: 45 cm
between rows: 60 cm
Plant height: 50-70 cm
Soil: rich, well-drained
Exposure: full sun
When to harvest (after transplanting): 100-120 days
Specificities:
Cauliflowers are ready to harvest when the heads are firm and formed, so they can be eaten at different sizes, depending on the desired size.
